To the boiling pot you can walk down.

Livingstone Song

Now if you want to explore around our town,

You’ll find some sights that will astound.

from David Livingstone, who told the story ,

Of The Victoria falls in all its glory.

To Sussi and Chuma his faithful friends

Who walked a thousand miles just to send,

His body home to rest at his life’s end.

Chorus:

Well many explorers have come this way

And stayed around until this day

The atmosphere will have you hooked,

You can’t explain it in 100 books.

Visit the museum an learn the tale,

Of how the early settlers lives did fail,

Cos of black water fever that rampaged through,

The first Livingstone settlement with Zambezi view.

Chorus

They moved the town away from The river

10 km and made it bigger,

Then the stores began to show.

To supply the goods and the seeds did grow

Into the city we have today

With shopping centres and a park for play.

Chorus

The Toka- Leya lay claim to this land

Their ancestors knew the fallsLike the back of their hands.

They know the Nyami -Nyami rests beneath

And needs a life to be appeased.

So every year (so it is said),

One falls over the edge and is proclaimed dead.

The haunting drums that play at night

Can be heard way out of sight,

The dancers move with grace and style,

The Cultural Centre shows will make you smile.

The Boat Cruise

By Stephie Zulu

Highlands Creative Academy Livingstone Zambia

One day Jessie mummy and I were going on a boat cruise at natural mystic lodge on the way we picked up Champo and his mum then we drove off.

when we reached at the lodge our friends were there. While we were waiting for everyone else some people were getting the boat ready. Then people started to come and Sherifa’s mum brought some cupcakes that she made because it was ray’s birthday.

Finally everyone came and it was time to get in the boat. We all got in the boat and the boat started. On the way we saw a baby crocodile the boat was going fast and the wind was blowing in my face. It felt like I was flying in a boat.

As the boat went further it started to get interesting we saw another baby crocodile then the boat went further and we saw a whole family of hippos on a little Island. The boat stopped for a minute so that people could take some pictures. I was scared that the hippos would tip the boat!

The boat turned around then it was time to eat. When everyone finished eating we saw a big crocodile then it went in the water. Robbin and Sherifa were putting there hands in the water a crocodile would have eaten their hands!

We stopped at an Island called ‘squeaky Island’ it was called squeaky Iceland because when people walked on it the sand squeaked. Everyone was having so much fun then it was time to sing happy birthday and have some cupcakes.

We took some pictures and ate, they were delicious. Soon it was time to go everyone got on the boat and the boat started moving. On the way we saw some more crocodiles.

Soon we were at the lodge. We were given white t-shirts and some paints to paint on the t-shirts then we played a bit and went home. We dropped campo and his mum at their house then we went home.
